We often find ourselves caught in distressing patterns that repeat despite our best intentions to change. Over time, we can feel disconnected — from ourselves, from others, and from parts of life that feel most vital. When the strategies that once protected us become the very things that cause us pain or keep us isolated, we often need help making sense of our difficulties to find new ways of moving forward.
Early relationships, unspoken family rules, cultural expectations — all leave impressions that guide how we love, grieve, strive, or retreat. These forces come to shape how safe we feel with others, what we expect from closeness, and how much of ourselves we share. Without realizing it, we come to organize our lives around these impressions — reaching for what feels familiar, even when it leaves us unfulfilled.
Some forms of change can only take shape in conversation with someone trained to listen beneath the surface. In our sessions, we will establish a space where you feel safe to speak openly about your experience. We’ll discuss whatever comes to mind — everyday events, memories, dreams, fears, desires. I will listen closely and without judgment, promoting exploration and attending to what lingers on the edge of awareness. Over time, we will gain insight into longstanding difficulties in your life, loosening the knot of repetition and allowing you to live with a greater sense of freedom, clarity, and connection.
I have experience working with people facing anxiety and depression, and individuals struggling with patterns of codependency and conflict in their intimate relationships. I have also worked with people who feel disconnected from their bodies, their creativity, and their sexuality. I have helped people navigating difficult life transitions, as well as those surviving trauma and loss. In my practice, I am sensitive to how marginalization and stigma impact mental health, as well as the ability to seek support.
My style as a therapist is marked by openness, curiosity, and warmth. I sincerely believe in this work, and view therapy as a collaborative effort. With time and trust, we’ll explore the underlying feelings, beliefs, and conflicts which have made it challenging to live a meaningful and satisfying life. In turn, what once felt inescapable begins to shift, and something new emerges.
